As with our
other flight training lessons, our Instrument Rating Program uses a
defined flight and ground training syllabus. We also use the latest
version of ASA's PCATD IFR Simulator. Flying a simulator in
instrument conditions is extremely valuable during instrument
training. It allows the instructor to stop the flight and assist the
student with IFR Procedures. This stops the development of negative
habits and is something that can not be performed in the air. 10
Hours of flight time can be logged in our PCATD for your Instrument
Rating which also saves money of aircraft rental fees.

The
On Top PCATD meets the FAA requirements for a loggable training
device, as outlined in Advisory Circular 61-126. Up to 10 hours can
be logged towards the instrument rating, plus an unlimited amount of
ground training hours.

Like the Private
Pilot Program, our Instrument Rating Program uses the Cessna
Integrate Flight Training system. The Cessna "Cleared for
Approach" flight training syllabus is designed around the Cessna
172 flight training aircraft, because this flight training syllabus
is designed around the actual aircraft we operate, what the student
pilot watches in the Computer-Based training, and reads is the
Instrument training text applies directly and accurately to the
actual aircraft our students fly. This training program also
eliminates the need for a formal ground school. If you would like to
know more about this flight training syllabus or would like to
schedule a demonstration please contact our flight school at (217)
885-3353.
